Message Might as well get the cat out of the bag. My Z is gone.

Monday night I was getting onto an on-ramp to a highway. I had just shifted into third gear when the back tires broke loose. The car jumped right in the rear and immediately came back left which sent me into a slide. I then hit a light pole broadside at about 50mph and once I hit the car flipped twice then landed upside down. The road was slippery as it had just rained a little bit, no standing water was on the ground.

I have to say THANK GOD for seatbelts! I would certainly be dead right now if I had not been wearing it. When the car rolled, the convertible top caved in on me and when it came to rest my head and neck were pinned against the top and steering wheel. The only thing keeping all my weight from pressing down on my head and neck was the seatbelt. I was literally hanging there.

As I went sideways I saw the pole coming towards me and it was going to hit right in the middle of the driver's door. I hit the gas hard to try to prevent the t-bone and it ended up hitting about 6 inches behind the door. From what I am told the driver's seat is about 4-5 inches more narrow now that it was just from that so I do not want to imagine what would have happened if it had hit the door.

Needless to say the car was destroyed, and unbelievably I walked away with no broken bones. I am pretty banged up right now; my back, shoulder, neck and head are all hurting very badly right now with lots of cuts and bruises but I am thanking God that I am not any worse.

I do not have any pictures yet, I was just able to get out of bed earlier tonight but I will post some when I can so that you all can see the carnage but that may be about a week or so.

I did want to say thank you to everyone here as I have made some great friends over the years. A very special thank you goes to Tim Davis and Brett Ramey, both came to the hospital as soon as they heard and they will both be able to tell you how lucky I am that I am alive. At the end of the day, it was still just a car and a testament to the build quality from Nissan that I was able to survive that impact.

For those going to ZdayZ; please be careful and have fun but remember to buckle up.

After ZdayZ, we will be going through the car to see what is salvagable and start parting it out. I really have no idea what is and is not right now but it will be posted in the classifieds when we know.

Thank you again everyone, it's been a hell of a ride.

RIP RAGTPZ :(

Randy
